| So it is OFFICIAL!!! I am coming back to Lee in two weeks!!!! *yaY* I couldn't be happier! The Marines will have to wait a year if that is where God wants me. Right now I know for a fact that I need to finish my Masters! I will graduate in the Spring and be off doing whatever I need to be doing! I am SUPER happy!!!! *yay* | | |
| So plans have changed....my 99.9% decision to join the Marines and be in the band has changed. I am not sure why, other than to say God is leading me down a different path. I am not sure how I am going to pay for it, but I know I am supposed to finish up my Masters at Lee. Then I can join the Marines or teach or whatever God wants me to do. I will graduate from Lee in the Spring or by next summer at the latest, and then go onto something else. Ever since being home I have felt that I needed to stay at Lee, I just thought it was silly because I could do the Marines and then go back to Lee or somewhere else and use the G. I Bill to get my Masters. But it appears as though God does not want me to go that route but wants me to finish what I started. So that is what I am going to do. I will be back at Lee University for one more year! | | |
| So I have made a decision....I think...99.9% sure...that I will be joining the MARINES!!!!! *yay* I had my auditon today and it went very well!! I can't find any reason not to join!! So there is the update!!! I will leave for bootcamp August 13!!! | | |
| So it has been a long while since I have written on this thing. I guess I will give an update to anyone who cares then!! Right now I am totally excited and ready for what life has in store for me. Ironically, I have several choices and options, which if you know me at all, you know this is a bad thing because I am super indecisive. So here are my options: 1) Join the Marine Band. Sounds kind of fun, and if Im going to do it now is the time. This is definitely a now or never deal. It sounds good but I am super afraid of the commitment and then getting in and finding out that I HATE it. Because I will be stuck in it for our years, and yes I will have to do boot camp and I will be a real marine. 2) Hopefully get this teaching job on the eastern shore of VA at a really nice middle school. The school system is awesome and very supportive of the arts and wants to see their music program go far! 3) Teach in Hamilton County TN, and finish my graduate degree from Lee. Now here's the thing, I am loving what I am learning at Lee now. My classes make more sense now and my teachers are amazing. And of course I will get to conitnue my studies with Dr. Plate in conducting...which is awesome because he thinks I have a talent for it and could conduct a real symphony someday. These are pretty much my options right now. I don't really know what way to go at the moment. There are definite pros and cons to it all. So if you read this and want to share any insight I would greatly appreciate it! Especially if you have insight into military life!!!! | | |
| Tomorrow is my BIRTHDAY!!!!!! *HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME* I am excited, altho I will be old now....but I get the best b-day present in the world.....a whole week off of school....next week is fall break for WV and Ocoee so I get to go home!!!! *yay* Anyways for those who care, tomorrow I will be 24 and you are all invited to come celebrate with me!!!! I should be home by 6ish and whoever wants to can go to Chatty to the place by the Rave that gives people free food on their birthday and then we will watch a movie at the rave or play fun games....whatever it should be fun!!!
